The Event Coordinator/Community Liaison will plan and implement specials events for the Lakeshore Campus and community during the summer 2015 period and the upcoming 2015/2016 academic year. Planned events include hosting the PanAm Games Torch Relay, Doors Open Toronto, Culture Days, and Earth Week. The incumbent may also provide additional event support to Schools and departments, including providing support during student orientation. Responsibilities will include marketing, coordinating logistics and volunteers, and reviewing overall success. In addition, the incumbent will support the Principal’s Office in various community engagement opportunities, as well as facilitate opportunities for Humber students through contacts and partnerships established in the community.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, along with 3-5 years of related experience. Experience organizing large scale events is required. In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work with both internal and external partners; conflict resolution and problem solving skills; proficiency with social media; advanced computer skills including the ability to update the website; and the ability to prepare professional documents.
