Temporary ISO Coordinator
The ISO Coordinator, as a corporate role, coordinates the development and maintenance of quality management systems in compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements. Based at our corporate office in St. John’s (NL), this person is responsible for the general management and recordkeeping of all quality documentation and oversees the non-conformance process. He / she also assists with the coordination and training required under our quality programs.
Tasks and responsibilities
Develop and provide effective implementation and maintenance of Oceanex’s Quality Management System (QMS);
Prepare quality documentation and reports by collection, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, incidents, audit results and corrective actions;
Assist with development of operational documents to complement the Quality Management System;
Coordinate development of and track key performance indicators (KPI’s) for quality issues pertaining to the business;
Ensure proper scheduling of both internal and external audits of Oceanex’s QMS;
Act as auditor during internal audits of the QMS;
Oversee the quality incident reporting process when work performed does not meet the required specifications;
Investigate major and repeat non-conformances in conjunction with supervisory and management personnel;
Plan and schedule Management Review meetings required by the QMS;
Educate and train staff in the requirements and benefits of the QMS.
Perform other duties as assigned.
University degree in a related field or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management and ISO implementation in a leadership/coordinator role, preferably in the marine industry;
Broad knowledge of safety, compliance and quality regulatory requirements;
Extensive knowledge of ISO and ISM standards;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrated interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated organizational skills;
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills;
Public speaking capabilities;
Bilingual (English and French), considered an asset.
