Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Advisor, Human Resources, provides the necessary support to the Human Resources team and managers in the administration of staff movement for both unionized and non-unionized employees, the management of disability as well as the application of certain clauses of the collective agreement. He or she informs, advises and guides employees regarding the company’s various programs and policies.

Summary of tasks:

Complete and validate human resources forms for any change applicable to an employee (change of position, structure, salary or other employment conditions and contract extension or termination).
Manage the staff movement process from beginning to end for unionized employees covered by the three (3) collective agreements in effect (posting, selection and appointment).
Support managers in the application of certain clauses of the collective agreement related to job postings and trainers. Actively participate in meetings with supervisors regarding staff movement. In the same vein, manage the probationary period and any change of status of new or supernumerary employees.
Carry out any other postings as required by the collective agreement (shutdown notice, continuous improvement position, vacation quota, etc.).
Proceed with onboarding and integrating employees of the NTO group (production) and coach managers in onboarding their employees. Validate employment offer letters.
Act as a resource person for technical aspects of HR systems and processes arising from collective agreements.
Participate in projects and initiatives required to adapt human resource management practices to the specific needs of the organization. May be called upon to write disciplinary notices.
Conduct research in support of grievance and complaint processes and participate in the management/drafting of grievance settlements. The incumbent also ensures good professional relations with the union executive are maintained. Participate in work relationship committees and write meeting minutes. Respond to grievances in a timely manner. Monitor disability cases and coordinate employees’ return to work. (Inform supervisors of the absence status of their staff, forward documents to the insurer, assess employee accommodation requests, etc.)

Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or industrial relations Current ORHRI membership, an asset;
One to three years of experience in a similar role;
Experience in a unionized environment;
Bilingualism, spoken and written;
Knowledge of labour laws;
Client focus, business acumen, excellent work organization, ability to manage multiple files at once;
Attention to detail and administrative diligence, autonomy, initiative, good analytical and judgement skills;
Good communication skills, confidentiality and integrity;
Excellent knowledge of Excel (cross tabs, advanced features);
Proficiency with statistics, reports and dashboards.
