Nothers Signs & Recognition, located in London Ontario, is looking for an experienced Maintenance & Equipment Coordinator to join our team. This is a contract position will 40 hours/week with an annual salary range between $40,000 and $45,000.

The Maintenance & Equipment Coordinator is responsible for providing equipment and building maintenance including facility cleaning, general production services and coordinating all delivery services in and out of town as well as maintaining all company vehicles and equipment. He/she is responsible for maintaining all seasonal work on company property. He/she will be also responsible for maintaining and restocking of all first aid kits.

Core responsibilities include:

Building and Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform regular check and cleaning of all production equipment including but not limited to laser machines, domer, engraving machines, Direct Color Printer, Mimaki, sandblaster, beveller, laminator, all saw equipment and panograph
  • Perform regular building maintenance check and coordinate any service related to general maintenance
  • Perform daily cleaning of the production and offices areas that includes but not limited to picking up garbage and recyclables, cleaning washrooms and lunchroom, cleaning floors in common areas
  • Perform weekly dusting of the showroom including display items
  • Perform seasonal maintenance duties including but not limited to snow/ice removal, sidewalk and parking lot salting, grass cutting and landscaping services on the property
  • Participate in monthly health and safety inspections and maintain and restock all first aid kits supplies

Delivery and Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform weekly maintenance check of all company vehicles
  • Clean all company vehicles on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Ensure all company vehicles have all necessary documentation required
  • Coordinate vehicle use by employees
  • Coordinate product delivery to customers
  • Provide delivery service to customers/suppliers as needed (in and out of town)
  • Cooperate with sales staff regarding any delivery status changes

Signage Installation

  • Coordinate and maintain schedule for signage installation with inside sales and operations staff
  • Install signage on customers’ properties as required
  • Repair installed signage as required

General Production

  • Coordinate services with contractors
  • Assist with production duties on an as needed basis
  • Operate process equipment when required
  • Pack orders to customers’ specifications
  • Serve as backup for Purchasing, Inventory, Shipping and Receiving
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives along with company mission, vision and values
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment and comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment with light maintenance experience
  • Analytical problem solver with ability to apply common sense and make sound process recommendations
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Quick learner with ability to learn and use company’s database program
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
  • Valid G driver’s license and a good driving record

Working Conditions:

  • Monday – Friday 6 am – 2:30 pm (hours may vary) with opportunity for occasional overtime
  • Fast paced work environment with plenty of interruptions
  • Exposure to high noise levels at times
  • Must wear protective equipment when required
  • Performing physical labour
  • Repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods of time
  • Occasional work with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Use of personal protection equipment is required (safety glasses, dust mask, earplugs etc.)
  • No open-toe shoes on the production floor
