The Manager, Operations Support is responsible for support services for Northlands security operations; creating a safe & secure environment in the Expo Centre, Northlands Park, Coliseum, Northlands venues at or near events, buildings, premises, and offices, as well as maximizing guest & customer safety & satisfaction. The Manager, Operations Support oversees departmental cost management, productivity, and facilitates the development of a collaborative team approach to maximize short term and long term Operational efficiencies.

Some, but not all, of the core duties for the Manager, Operations Support are:

Emphasize & monitor safety performance and obligations in all areas of operations – personally review and report on all safety incidents or infractions leading to hospitalization.
Lead daily work planning meetings with department staff to discuss status updates, labour forecasting and planning.
Provide first response management for facility emergencies; direct and instruct Operations Support team to follow company policy & procedures in the event of an emergency, severe weather, natural disaster, etc. which may impact Northlands’ assets, customers and/or staff.
Personally perform facility & site “walks” as a means of inspecting facilities, parking venues, on/off site locations for operational safety standards, and providing an opportunity to engage staff and customers.
Personally receives, reviews and leads in all investigations (internal & external); liaise with police; prepares court briefing (a description of the event as written in Northlands’ Security files).
Maintains communication with Northlands’ Legal Counsel to review incidents, investigations and works to limit liability of the enterprise.
Reviews all Public Complaints/Incident Reports; obtain the facts relating to the complaint/incident; discuss with the department manager of the employee(s) involved; talk with complainant; with the goal to rectify the situation and ensure it does not occur again.
Lead in the Guest Recovery process; attempts to mitigate liability of the enterprise and have the guests attend future events, etc.
In conjunction of the Director, Operations and Manager, Operations, strives to continuously develop Emergency Response Planning SOP’s for every event and possible situation; work towards a comprehensive ERP plan to ensure safety of the client, customer, employee and stakeholder as it relates to the overarching Northlands Corporate Crisis Management Plan (CCMP).

You should have:

  • Investigational and or Supervisory experience, preferably related to the gaming industry
  • Security/Surveillance experience is a definite asset
  • Law enforcement experience dealing with criminal investigation and prosecution
  • Development and application of regulatory/legislative policies
  • Vast knowledge in surveillance room equipment and requirements is desired.
  • Familiarity with and experience in data mining security incident management systems.
