This is a Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Term position or secondment commencing as soon as possible until July 31, 2019, with the possibility of an extension.
The Mental Health Consultant will:
 Serve as a Mental Health Consultation Team based out of either Bonnyville, Cold Lake or Lac La Biche
 Work individually with their identified school teams, and collaboratively to share resources and to plan for training
 Facilitate collaboration with other agencies, therapists, school teams and families
 Ensure schools have access to the qualified mental health team in addition to other community
supports
 Strengthen the school staff’s abilities to support the severe mental health needs of students
 Increase awareness of factors that build and sustain mental wellness
 Facilitate access to treatment for students with severe mental health needs

Requirements:
 A Bachelor or diploma of Social Services Disciplines or equivalent
 Specialized training with family interventions
 Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
 Knowledge and experience in the areas of Indigenous culture and values
 Proven success as a positive and productive team member/leader

Preferences will be given to applicants who possess:
 A Master’s degree in Human Services
 A personal philosophy for creating strong relationships with youth and families
 Ability to provide support and referrals for students and families
 Ability to provide crisis intervention
 Knowledge of the “Youth Justice Act” would be a definite asset
