Reporting to the Medical Clinic Manager, the incumbent is responsible for Medical Office Assistant (MOA)
duties that include delegated patient information and clinical supports, physician assistance, supply and
clerical functions, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MOA “A”
– Grade 12 diploma.
– Previous medical office experience.
– Typing minimum of 30 wpm.
– Training or experience with MOIS program an asset.

MOA “B”
– Medical Office Assistant certification with related experience.
– Medical Terminology certificate.
– Typing minimum of 30 wpm.
– Training or experience with MOIS program an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
– Basic MS Word computer skills and email.
– Knowledge of PowerChart and Electronic Medical Record (EMR-Purkinje).
– Problem solving skills.
– Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
– Excellent interpersonal skills.
– Demonstrated physical ability to carry out duties.
– Demonstrate ability to initiate, organize and complete work projects with minimal supervision.
– Demonstrate ability to operate related equipment.
– Pleasant and professional manner in dealing with staff, physicians and the general public.
