Position Summary North West Redwater Partnership is a joint venture between North West Upgrading Inc. and Canadian Natural Resources Limited, with each company owning 50% stake in the Partnership. The Partnership is building and will operate a world class bitumen refinery in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland, which will add significant value to bitumen resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. Reporting to the Manager of Process Engineering, the Process Engineer is accountable for supporting all process engineering issues during Commissioning and Start-up and Operations for the Utilities unit.
Requirements:
- Must have attained an engineering degree with strong process engineering skills;
- 3 – 5 years of total experience in process engineering and operations specifically in Hydroprocessing , with experience on startup and commissioning of large plants;
- Understands, creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to NWR’s Core Competencies to drive results and culture.
- Must be a team player: willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance;
- Must be able to draw on deep and broad experience of each of process engineering, operations, project execution, startup & commissioning in order to prevent and solve issues;
- Must be willing to make decisions, in line with the project philosophy and execution plans;
- Must utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure:
- the project builds and retains a culture of open sharing of both positive and negative information,
- Colleagues and subordinates “feel helped” when an intervention is necessary;
- Must be self-confident enough to seek assistance with difficult or complex issues;
- Must be project-driven, not ambition-driven, in order to ensure the success of the overall project;
- Must be self-aware: able to recognize when stress or fatigue is impacting personal performance and to take steps to mitigate;
