The primary responsibilities of PC Support Technician L2 consists of solving hardware and software problems on systems used by the employees (for example: e-mail problems, network and device problems); installations of applications and operating systems, update and maintenance according to the standards defined by the Network Services team; facilities and equipment deployments including PCs, printers and IP phones; Automating tasks when applicable; Documentation and preparation of FAQs; The network technician’s role is to provide technical support and assistance for all needs related to computer equipment and the phone system (IP). Its role is also to support the network administrator in the weekly tasks.

  • Maintain computer equipment in an optimal state
  • Manage the implementation of existing procedures
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets
  • Provide support to users of the company as well as the production team
  • Maintain and improve security in collaboration with the network administrator
  • Research and develop solutions for all stations of the company
  • Support the network administrator with weekly tasks
  • Manage service calls by priority level
  • Install various computer equipment
  • Review event logs and implement the appropriate corrective action
  • Participate in various departmental projects
  • Ensure IT vigilance

Desired skills and experience

  • Important – 3-5 years’ experience in Technical Support
  • Essential – DEC or AEC computer
  • Essential – Windows (XP and Win7)
  • Essential – Hardware inventory management
  • Essential – Windows Platform
  • Essential – TCP / IP Protocol
  • Essential – Microsoft Office Products
  • Microsoft Office, Active Directory 2003, IP Telephony
  • Essential – Excellent sense of customer service
  • Essential – Ability to analyse and solve problems
  • Important – Experience in a corporate VoIP system
  • Asset – Experience with enterprise-type antivirus solutions
  • Asset – Experience with software Sysprep and WinPE (or other) is an asset
