Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice, the successful candidate will collaborate with managers and school placement coordinators in order to ensure appropriate and safe student placements at all NHS sites. This
individual will represent the NHS at colleges/universities and elsewhere in the community to promote and further develop student placement strategies. Collaboration with Recruitment in order to effectively link student placements with recruitment strategies is required. In addition, the successful candidate will track and report on student placement initiatives, as well as develop and implement improved strategies that support both students and NHS employees in a learning environment.
Responsibilities will also include acting as the initial point of contact for educational institutions for placements. Development of affiliation agreements, conducting any necessary follow-up regarding completion of contracts, coordinating all administrative and intake duties related to student placements, including: registration, orientation, MediTech training schedules, and all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or related field
o A minimum of two years experience in human resources/recruitment is preferred
o Current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations including immunization requirements and WSIB regulations for Ontario and out-of-province students is an asset
o Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, problem-solving, interpersonal, supervisory, and organization skills
o Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to project a positive image of the NHS to a wide variety of audiences
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high regard for confidentiality
o Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
o Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, hospital policies and procedures
o Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
o Consistent and regular attendance required
