The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides a professional information technology (IT) and information management (IM) capability aligned to support the business of government and the citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador. Responsibilities of the office include IT and IM coordination, planning, budgeting and policy development; development and operation of computer systems and infrastructure for government; expenditure and procurement of IT goods and services; the management of IT related agreements and contracts; and the administration of the Management Information Act. Additionally, the OCIO provides consultative services, and works collaboratively with the private information technology sector to maximize business opportunities and to support the private sector as well as the people of our province.

Duties
This position provides expertise at a specialist level in the maintenance of enterprise-level applications in accordance with guidelines and standards. The successful candidate will work under the direction of an Application Services team lead, in consultation with clients, to perform expert level analysis on production system issues and recommend, define, develop and implement solutions to resolve these issues. The incumbent consults with users, support staff and management to understand requests for change, upgrades and related enhancements; provides coordination and direction to team members in modifying business applications in accordance with applicable standards; works with other technical groups within the OCIO to ensure the best solutions are being implemented; writes, updates and performs quality reviews of documentation (e.g. Operational Procedures Manuals, Disaster Recovery Plans); and performs other related duties as required. The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, reporting to a team lead and manager.

Merit Criteria (What is this?) Screening Criteria

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in computer science. Equivalencies will be considered.
  • Experience supporting one or more Oracle E-Business Suite modules.
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Release 12. (asset)
  • Experience creating customizations and/or personalizations with Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Experience programming in Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience with XML, Oracle Reports, Interfaces and Workflow.
  • Experience with Oracle Forms and ODI. (asset)
  • Experience with OBIA, Weblogic, LDAP integration, OID and Java. (asset)
  • Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of supporting Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Proficiency with Oracle E-Business Suite, customizations, personalizations and related tools.
  • Knowledge of programming in Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of XML, Oracle Reports, Interfaces and Workflow.
  • Knowledge of formal incident and change management practices.
  • Ability to think critically.
