Procurement Specialist

To be based at the Retail Operations Center, Fredericton.

The Position: Our Financial Services department is seeking an individual to join our team as the Procurement Specialist responsible for the procurement process of “non-product” goods and services for ANBL. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, this role is accountable for maintaining and executing on the procurement process within the established by-laws, acts and agreements. This includes providing efficient and effective service to departments with request for proposal (RFP) documents, leading procurement activities, and identifying areas for cost savings.

The Procurement Specialist will have a strong sense of process discipline execution, a solid understand of purchasing and a customer service orientation. This position will be required to liaise with departments, suppliers, vendors and service providers relating to RFP documents in a diplomatic and professional manner. A high attention to detail is required to ensure RPFs, addendums, purchase orders, contracts and reports are accurate and communicated effectively. Additionally, this role will be responsible for preparing and releasing procurement exceptions report to ANBL’s Board of Directors, and assisting in information releases to the public.

The Requirements:

  • Current enrollment or willingness to enroll in the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) Designation is required. At minimum, must have all University or College pre-requisites completed to be eligible to enroll in the SCMA Designation Program.
  • Minimum of five years of industry procurement and contracts experience.
  • Experience in public sector purchasing would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of government Acts and Agreements regulating procurement process would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity working with an accounting application such as GP Dynamics would be desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written) with demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, timeline sensitive and results-driven environment
  • Ability to deal accurately with numerical and statistical data.

Candidates selected to compete for this position will be subject to a competency based selection process and will be required to complete various selection assessments to a standard acceptable to ANBL.
