The New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual for the position of Manager of Employment and Training Initiatives. The Manager of Employment and Training Initiatives is responsible for the management and coordination of all Provincial Employment Programs, which assists youth with an intellectual disability to make successful transitions from high school to employment and/or community college. This position provides direction and support to NBACL’s Transition Facilitators and works closely with School Districts, NBCC/CCNB and the Department of Post-Secondary Education Training and Labour. The successful applicant must be innovative, enthusiastic and committed to the vision, values and philosophy of inclusion.
The Manager position will be located in one of NBACL’s 6 office locations in New Brunswick but will also be required to travel throughout the province. This is a one year contract with the possibility of extension, 35 hours per week, salaried position.
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and/or demonstrate strength in the following areas:
Highly motivated and results driven;
Experience in staff management, leadership, and coaching;
Ability to work as part of a positive team in a fast paced environment;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Flexibility to resolve issues;
Interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds, occupational groups, specialty areas and programs and successes in building capacity through community relationships and networks;
Ability to develop, execute and monitor work plans;
Works efficiently in both independent and group settings, often juggling multiple tasks or projects simultaneously;
Capabilities in preparing and delivering presentations.
Qualified candidates will also possess the following requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences, Business Administration or related field;
Minimum of two years’ experience in a management/team leadership position;
Extensive knowledge of employment resources as well as the education and post-secondary education systems;
Valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle necessary for work related duties and the willingness and flexibility to travel throughout New Brunswick;
Current and valid Criminal record check and Vulnerable Persons Sector check;
Bilingualism in both official languages (French and English) will be considered an asset;
Previous experience in working with persons with a disability and knowledge of inclusive practices
will be considered assets.
