The Quality and Food Safety Manager primary area of responsibility is ensuring the quality and food safety requirements stay compliant with business policies. This includes quality assurance related to new and existing products, food safety systems, specification’s, customer complaints and ongoing product surveillance. QA also supports other parts of the business requiring food related technical expertise.

  • Creation and management of quality processes, including raw material inspections, finished product inspections, material investigations, document management, change control, deviations, preventative actions, and auditing
  • Develop, maintain, validate and revise annually the SQF Program, non-gmo, Organic & Kosher Certification process
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate activities related to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program
  • Ongoing SQF program management – Ensure that SQF rules are being respected rigorously
  • Supervise, manage and train technicians under his/her responsibility
  • Assist, provide instructions and trainings to the production / sanitation supervisors, lab and production employees about Food Safety / Quality activities
  • Make sure documentation, corrective actions and follow-ups are completed for any non-conformance issue
  • Coordinate hold and release activities to support exports / pathogens test programs
  • Manage and investigate customers complaints received
  • Conducting root cause analysis and rolling out the appropriate corrections
  • Facilitating HACCP/SQF meetings. Preparing agenda and minutes of the meeting
  • Coordinate and supervise manufacturing facility Quality Assurance and laboratory functions
  • Train and supervise management employees that have a role in the SQF Program to ensure their good understanding of the rules and development as a team of the best control measures possible
  • Participate and take the lead in food safety audits

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science/Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years QA Manager experience in the Food Processing Industry
  • Experience with food regulations, preferably SQF standards
  • High-level of attention to details, self-starter and performs under minimum supervision
  • Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Very organized, good critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
  • A strong with ethnic and job dedication is essential to be successful in this position.
  • Bilingual ( French and English)
