Narcity Media Inc. is currently looking for an extremely motivated and passionate Brand Manager to join our content team as a full-time contractor in Montreal for our existing web property, MTL Blog ( http://www.mtlblog.com ).

The position offers tremendous growth opportunities and the chance to work with and shape one of Canada’s fastest growing media companies. There is a possibility for full-time employment once the contract is over.

WHAT IT ENTAILS

• Research and write articles on a wide range of topics in a conversational style, which engages readers
• Create & manage visual consistency throughout the brand’s social channels and website
• Create and execute a vision for content that reflects the brands core values but also adapts to today’s trends and respects our demographic
• Hire, train, manage and guide writers
• Proofread and edit articles
• Manage time and schedules of your team
• Create and manage all brand documentation including training guides, tutorials, examples, etc.
• Maintaining high ethics with blog presentation, content and daily work tasks
• Collaborate with internal departments to enhance blog features and presence
• Act as ambassador and liaison for company with clients, online and local communities
• Work with production team and clients to shape the Sponsored Content material to the brand’s image
• Write advertising copy for use by publication or broadcast media to promote sale of goods and services.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• 3 years experience media industry
• 6 months – 1 year management experience
• Strong knowledge of online content creation (writing, blogging, photo journalism)
• Possess engaging “conversational” writing skills with a professional posture.
• Strong social media distribution skills & understanding (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Strong writing skills, strong oral skills
• Creative and result oriented
• Autonomous, self-motivated
• On top of current online trends
• Possess a laptop with Wi­Fi capability
• Lives and breathes lifestyle and their city (Montreal)
• Has interest in web analytics, community creation
• Must have been published by a recognized organization (online or offline) or have published blogs with confirmed reader visit statistics
