Job Description:

Mr. Fireplace’s Field Sales Representative is responsible for producing market revenue growth, selling all Mr. Fireplace products and services to existing and new customers. This person is charged with aggressively growing existing and new accounts. Potential clients include retail fireplace stores, feed stores, mobile home manufactures, pool and spa retail stores and other out side the box opportunities. Success will be measured by the individual’s ability to generate incremental business and sustaining ongoing revenue generation. He/she ensures that customer expectations are met or exceeded.

General Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for generating new business and revenue growth across multiple channels within assigned territories.
  • Obtain market intelligence via muddy boots procedure to see what market needs are
  • Utilizes Sales Account Management (CRM) on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and present presentations to customers, at the customers location and cold calling
  • Promotes special incentives as needed to drive desired business results.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with customers and leadership at operating locations.
  • Manage / escalate service issues through channels until a resolution is found.
  • Train and inform customers on Mr. Fireplace products
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Experience
Previous sales experience, fireplace products and knowledge of new home construction market is an asset. Mr. Fireplace will train on our products but you need to be versed in the sales process.

Skills:

  • Easily able to grasp new products and technology and how to leverage them in a competitive marketplace
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills both written and verbal are required
  • Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
  • Understanding of the retail/wholesale marketplace in an operational context to best position Mr. Fireplace’s value proposition.
  • Willing to invest time needed to become a product specialist
  • Ability to use Internet and MS Office effectively with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Working knowledge of ACCPAC is an asset
  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment;
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively.

Work Environment

Mr. Fireplace is a fireplace distributor with two of our own retail stores located in Southern Alberta. We support the largest fireplace manufacture in the world, and recently have had our sales territory expanded to cover BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and Northwest Territories. We are seeking outside sales representatives that either live in the sales territory they service or are willing to travel to their territory during the week to make sales calls. For candidates who live in the market they are servicing sales / training trips to our head office in Calgary will be required at least once a month.
