Reporting to the Director, Conservatory, the Program Administrator is responsible for the leadership, management and administration of Conservatory programs and facilities as assigned within the Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension (FCEE), The Program Administrator is accountable for ensuring programs are grant supported and/or revenue generating, Duties include the following: program development and administration, staff and instructor recruitment and supervision, budget administration, marketing, public relations and facilities management. The Program Administrator provides leadership to the team regarding policies and procedures and represents the University, FCEE and Conservatory on internal and external committees as assigned by the Dean or Director.

Duties:

  • Recruits, orients, supports and supervises the administrative staff and casual employees
  • Conducts regular staff meetings
  • Appraises work performance, identifies training needs and recommends appropriate professional
  • development for staff
  • Recruits, orients, supports and supervises instructors
  • Conducts needs assessment by collecting information from student feedback, instructors, advisory committees and media
  • Assesses with the Director the viability of proposed revenue generating program areas
  • Determines and approves suggested course/program tuition
  • Works with Student Finance and Awards regarding student loans bursaries and grants where appropriate
  • Develops student promotion policy for certificate programs for approval by the Dean’s Advisory Group
  • Conducts the admissions and registration processes into all courses and programs
  • Determines acceptance of annual student roster into all programs
  • Works with the Extension Systems Analyst to follow timelines and procedures for scheduling
  • Ensures course materials are prepared in a timely fashion including ordering texts as required

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required
  • Three to five years’ administrative experience in a Continuing Education or Music Education environment
  • Experience with needs analysis and revenue generating program development
  • Customer service focus
  • Computer proficiency (word processing, databases, internet and spreadsheets)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with an ability to attend to details and work within deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Salary:
$3,031.46 semi-monthly
