General Purpose: To provide HR administrative support in order to deliver timely and professional response to Human Resources team in areas of general support, payroll and other organizational requirements
REPONSIBILITIES
Assist with coordinating Human Resource programs such as new hire orientation, service awards, town hall, etc., in addition to supporting processes and procedures
Provide HR system updates i.e) logging safety shoe purchases
General administration i.e) filing, ad hoc reporting, preparing and mailing new hire packages
Maintain up to date Organizational Charts and HR files as required
Coordinate company communications i.e.) welcoming new hires, org changes, etc
Provide Backup Reception relief
Assist with Temporary Help requests– take requests from managers, arrange through predetermined temp agencies
Coordinate training as required and record completion ie) H&S, AODA
Assist with ad hoc projects ie) consolidate and create log of all job descriptions
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
University/College education in Human a Resources Program
1-3 years’ experience in an HR administrative role utilizing HRIS and/or payroll systems Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, in addition to polite and efficient telephone manner
Demonstrated technical ability to develop, implement systems and reports
Sound analytical and problem solving skills
Strong computer literacy with MS Office, in particular Excel, PageMaker, Illustrator, Kronos and HRIS (experience with ADP an asset) and internet applications, i.e. SharePoint
Superior ability to provide customer service via follow-up and ability to organize workload in a busy environment
Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize and achieve results
Ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact, maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment and work with minimal supervision
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Ability to exercise flexibility and adaptability to change
Must be detail oriented with strong analytical ability
