Quality Assurance and Production management (QAPM) provides Quality Assurance, Event Management, Production Management, and End User services to clients within the Firm. QAPM partners with the development teams in other technology divisions to ensure seamless technology delivery to our clients.

QAPM’s goal is to deliver a first-class technology platform by focusing on production stability and delivering excellent end user services. The division supports the evolution of technology platforms and tools, manage and maintain our production plant, and ensure the implementation and adherence to proper operational controls to manage risk.

Position Description:
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, fast reactions, and a deep sense of ownership, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an unwavering desire to learn and deepen their technical knowledge. They should be adaptive to a continually change and fast-paced environment, be able to successfully multi-task, and enjoy the pressure and stress of a role that covers all aspects of ITIL Production Management. The role will involve interacting with developers and other application support teams as well as with clients directly in the business units.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ownership of any escalated user or system issues promptly and professionally to ensure issues are tracked through to resolution.
  • Oversight of offshore managed service in Montreal, India, and Mexico.
  • Incident and problem management
  • Knowledge Management and documentation.
  • Change management including operational readiness and risk assessment of all production planned changed.
  • Weekend on-call rotation for escalations along the rest of the core team members.
  • Planning for and participation in IT/Business/Market change events and disaster recovery testing.

Qualifications

Skill required

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or in a relevant field.
  • Professional industrial with minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in a diverse technology environment – Linux, windows, mainframe.
  • Excellent knowledge in SQL, preferably with Sybase and/or DB2.
  • Exposure to Service Oriented Architecture, Core Java, and Web technologies (JSP, JavaScript, HTML).
  • Familiarity with server-level hardware, clustering technology, files shares, and storage systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems and problem themes and drive the necessary process and technology improvements.
  • Ability to work well with people across the organization, at all levels; building relationships, while driving change.
  • Respond to regulatory and compliance issues with urgency.
  • A track record of delivering results in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to track, troubleshoots, and document outages, with a keen awareness of business criticality.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the financial industry, regulations, and auditing programs.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Perl or shell scripting, job scheduling tools like Autosys, and messaging technologies like MQ.
  • Previous experience production support, supporting reference data, entitlements or access Management, and middleware architecture systems.
