HR FIELD RECRUITER

LOCATION: Acheson, AB

STATUS: Open, Until filled

SUMMARY :

Reporting to the Recruitment and Employment Supervisor, this position is responsible for the recruitment of civil earthworks and oilfield construction positions. This position is accountable for screening and interviewing applicants, completing background and reference checks, administering applicable pre-hire assessments, arranging internal hiring manager interviews and preparing offer letters to selected applicants.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Involved in all aspects of field recruitment – determining recruitment needs, posting job ads, shortlisting, interviewing, selecting, reference checking, and preparing offer letters
  • Improves productivity, reduces turnover and save countless hours for the organization by identifying and attracting top-performing candidates to fill job openings
  • Creates and manages job descriptions/job postings for field positions
  • Place job postings using an applicant tracking system, newspaper advertisements, online, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues
  • Develops and maintains a strong network of contacts to identify and source quality candidates.
  • Establishes relationships with external/internal consultants as resources for field staff
  • Sorts and pre-screens all incoming resumes/applications efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers/supervisors to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
  • Coordinates/schedules drug & alcohol testing, safety training, lodging, and travel as required
  • Maintains a current and leading edge level of knowledge in HR practices, direction and technology through participation in seminars, internet education and personal development
  • Demonstrates an understanding and acceptance of the corporate values and acceptable business conduct on the job in daily interactions and relationships
  • Ensures all regulatory (Employment Standards/Privacy Policy Act) requirements are being met and strictly adhered to
  • Maintains a strong service orientation with open and effective communication with other departments and branches and project site offices
  • Demonstrates and practices the avoidance of silo thinking and behaviors when dealing with corporate managers and branches – reinforces the priority of overall organizational succes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Human Resources Certificate or Diploma, with a minimum of 3 years experience in the construction or oil and gas industry. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
