Position:
Process Engineer – Paint Line and Assembly
Reports to:
Director of Process Engineering
Location:
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead the paint line, assembly and test processes focusing on;
safety,
quality,
continuous improvement, and
waste elimination.
Develop and improve processing plans and standard operating procedures related to;
methods,
design,
safety,
quality,
materials handling,
manpower requirements, and
cost.
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished- product and process capabilities, and establishing standards.
Develop or bring forward industry best practices and new technologies.
Manage multiple projects ensuring schedule requirements and budgets are met.
Conduct all activities and execute all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results- focused attitude.
Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a combination of a related engineering discipline / technical diploma and relevant experience.
Experience in an agricultural equipment manufacturing environment.
Experience in mechanical equipment and assembly fixture design.
Experience in the design and operation of an automated or semi-automated paint application system.
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
Skills and Attributes Required:
Developed leadership skills, including demonstrated team-building, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to achieve deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment by effectively organizing, prioritizing and executing.
Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to handle conflict effectively.
Confidence, with the proven ability to build credibility and strong partnerships at all levels.
Complete proficiency with MS Word, Excel, other common applications as well as SolidWorks or similar solid modelling software.
