Position Summary
Mirochembiotech is looking for a Research Technician to join our Research Team at the Northern University of British Columbia, Prince George, BC.
Reporting to the Lead Research Scientist, the Research Technician will be responsible for assisting with all activities surrounding scaling up amino acid chelated minerals production, including thermal balance testing, heat & mass transfer, and fluids engineering.

Job Description & Duties

• Conduct required testing on calorimetry, wet chemistry methods and various instruments (HPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS, ICP-OES, FTRI, etc.)
• Develop new skills in new areas of technology through training and awareness programs
• Conduct experimental trials, if necessary, to support product trouble-shooting or reprocessing
• Provide technical support in designing experimental plans to scale-up products manufacturing
• Prepare/revise master manufacturing documents for reprocessing requirements and monitor progress of rework batches
• Coordinate with suppliers on raw material quality issues

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering
• Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in the use of pilot and production equipment
• Must possess advanced computer skills (proficient in Matlab, Microsoft Word and Excel) and knowledge of advanced mathematics
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, and independently
