Midwest Food Resources is a non-profit charity organization that began in 1997. We are passionate about food security and working with community towards healthy food for all through education and our programs. Because we work closely with the community, its essential that the Program Coordinator form positive relationships with community members/agencies/volunteers whenever possible, via our programs.

The Program Coordinator duties are:
Fresh Food Box Program-Active participation and coordination of MWFR Fresh Food Box program, which includes maintaining a log of ordering customers and volunteers, preparing a shopping list and staying within the budget, ordering produce from local stores and gardeners, arranging for delivery and pick up of produce, coordinating packing of FFB, coordinating with volunteers and recruiting more when necessary, ensuring participants are aware of order days and know when/where to pick up their FFB, creating, preparing and distributing FFB newsletter, preparing deposits and program reports.

Community Garden-During the garden months, coordinate garden work bees with the gardeners to maintain and beautify the garden plot. Ensure the garden has water for the gardeners.

Hours are M-F 9-4.

Skills required for this job include: Proficiency with computer programs (especially Word, Outlook and Publisher), printers and phones, strong organizing skills, MUST be a self-starter, honest, reliable, takes direction, team player and friendly. Must have own vehicle as driving is required.

This position will eventually require coordination of other programs and completion of additional tasks/duties as assigned by the Director, but the skills set needed for the Fresh Food Box program is essential to the rest.

There will be a standard 3 month probationary period. VSC (vulnerable sector check) is required for employment.

You will be directly responsible to the Executive Director of Midwest Food Resources.
