Our office of GO Retail Marketing is seeking a Social Media & Web Specialist who participate in developing and delivering plans and products that support and enhance stakeholder and customer understanding, and consumer usage of the GO Transit system. Coordinates communications to promote and enhance GO Transit’s public image, brand, and messaging through social media and web. Provides technical, creative and content expertise in developing, supporting, maintaining and enhancing GO Transit’s public web sites, social media accounts, web-based communications services and products.

Providing technical, creative, and content expertise in the development, and support of GO Transit’s, public websites, social media accounts, and other web-based communications services and products.
Developing and implementing public affairs/social media strategies and communications plans for communicating key messages which support customer understanding and usage of the GO Transit system.
Implementing social media plans and products, responding to public inquiries on social media regarding complex issues, and ensuring online materials support client and business objectives.
Monitoring, tracking, and analyzing social media coverage of GO Transit and related issues, providing reports, analysis, and recommending plans and programs.
Coordinating the development and production of a wide range of communications through graphics, audio/visual, and online media, and providing editorial services for all online communications.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and ensure web and social media are updated accurately to maximize the effectiveness of communications, and minimize customer disruptions.
Participates in initiatives to facilitate the development of customer experience programs that will sustain the patronage of current customers, and develop new markets.

Reviewing format and content of GO Transit websites, and makes design and content recommendations for improvements. Maintains, redesigns, and improves methodologies, workflows and processes.
Coordinating the design, development and maintenance of the public websites, including content, publication requirements, timelines, design parameters, language requirements and links to other sites.
Reviews web content, user and client feedback, and usage statistics to ensure content is integrated,accurate and current on public sites
Maintains and develops social media, web archives and content libraries of information and design elements including text, photography, graphics, videos and audio.

College diploma in Communications, Public Affairs, or Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Minimum 6 years’ related experience in developing and implementing social media and online communications strategies and plans.
Demonstrated professional experience in representing corporate brands and messaging through a variety of social media platforms.
Expertise with wide array of software and Internet-related applications, Internet protocols, and standards, including SharePoint CMS, HTML, and CSS; Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite products.
Technical competency in web communications practices, and with formal design/layout principles and graphic creation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to structure and relay information clearly, concisely, and logically to both internal and external stakeholders.
