Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario and our goal is to create a transportation network that enhances the prosperity, sustainability and quality of life for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. We lead planning in the region with a Regional Transportation Plan that guides the work and investments of the organization. This includes building light transit, bus rapid transit and Regional Express Rail, as well as operating GO Transit, UP Express and PRESTO.

To support relationship management between Metrolinx and corporate accounts and to identify and provide advice on opportunities to facilitate an increase in ridership and revenue through the promotion of Non-Transit products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and builds solid business relationships with corporate clients to advance Metrolinx’ products and service offerings
  • Identifies and develops new approaches to support business development and Non-Transit revenue generation programs
  • Develops and delivers comprehensive strategic and tactical plans that align with Metrolinx business objectives to increase revenue generation and awareness-raising in order to expand the Metrolinx brand into innovative corporate environments
  • Creates compelling sales presentations and tools in collaboration with Brand and Marketing to amplify the brand for use at retailer and strategic partner account meetings and conferences and to influence and support the selling process to prospective clients
  • Maintains awareness of key trends within the transit industry and considers their impact and/or application within Metrolinx
  • Collaborates with Finance to set the overall revenue and profit targets for retail and partner accounts and to produce Non-Transit Sales Revenue reports
  • Monitors and manages client account contracts, invoices and performance for compliance with contractual agreements
  • Leverages internal relationships to develop strategic tactical plans to expand the Metrolinx brand into innovative retail and corporate environments
  • Builds and maintains relationships with corporate clients to advance and promote product and service offerings
  • Networks with external groups to form business relationships and create opportunities to promote the Metrolinx brand
  • Develops plans that align with Metrolinx business objectives to increase revenue generation and awareness of products and services
  • Manages account contracts, invoices and performance for compliance with contractual agreements
  • Advises other employees on topics related to the incumbent’s area of expertise, but does not guide employees in their day-to day activities

Location: 10 Bay Street, Toronto

Qualifications

  • Completion of a university or college degree in Business or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Minimum six (6) years’ experience in related corporate sales and planning
  • Business development techniques to develop strategies to identify opportunities to expand the Metrolinx brand into innovative retail and corporate environments
  • Sales management practices and techniques to manage and grow existing non-transit corporate accounts
  • Creativity and innovation to develop new approaches to support business development and Non-Transit revenue generation programs
  • Relationship management and consultation skills to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams to amplify the brand for use at retailer and strategic partner account meetings and conferences
  • Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to deliver compelling presentations to existing and new accounts
