Graduate of a recognized medical office administration/medical secretary program
Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as recognized in the province of Ontario
Minimum of two (2) years of recent and relevant professional experience in a physician’s office (endocrinology and metabolism experience an asset)
Demonstrated intermediate computer skills for software applications in Microsoft Office including an intermediate level knowledge of Word and Excel skills
Minimum 50 wpm typing speed and transcribing experience
Excellent working knowledge of OHIP billing and computerized OHIP billing
Excellent working knowledge of Cerner and Groupwise
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to establish and balance competing priorities in a busy medical office
Superior communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
Ability to receive and manage patient calls, communicate directly with patients
Experience with drug approval request processing
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
Ability to work independently and within a team Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ACUITY Star database
Experience with IBIS patient billing program
Experience with HUGO
Experience in assisting with conference coordinating, meeting scheduling
