The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for a Filing Assistant for our high-performance medical administrative team. We are recruiting for a client focused professional with exceptional organizational skills and a great attitude. The candidate must possess a background in the medical records/administrative field. Here are the main accountabilities of the role:

  • Preparing charts for upcoming appointments including specialists
  • Daily chart and paper filing
  • Calling facilities to obtain results
  • Distributing incoming faxes and mail
  • Updating client information on internal database
  • Organizing and filing medical reports
  • Responding to all communications including emails, faxes and phone calls regarding patient inquiries
  • Coordinating with other staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

The Requirements:

  • 1-2 years Medical Office experience
  • Medical Office Administration or Health Records Diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate level in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

The role reports to the Team Lead, Medical Records and is part of a team of 10 members. This is a 12-month Contract role with full-time hours. The position is scheduled during business hours for 5 days per week between Monday-Saturday.
