Hope Homes Program

Term position until March 31st, 2018

McMan’s Hope Homes Program is looking for a Family Preservation Worker to join our team. As a Family Preservation Worker you would be responsible for providing in home family support to those youth who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. The successful candidate must be able to work with youth and their families that are experiencing challenges and require support to ensure their youth can remain or return home safely. The Family Preservation Worker will work as part of the Hope Homes team and must be able to work collaboratively with other youth serving agencies. This is a dynamic position which requires an ability to be creative and manage complex systems. Being comfortable with change will be required. It is an asset for the successful candidate to have an extensive family work background and be able to work with multiple families, as well as have knowledge of the homeless sector. The ideal candidate will possess excellent crisis management abilities and be comfortable working independently in the community as well as McMan’s residential facilities.

This position does require some evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate:
Will possess a completed degree/diploma in social work, psychology or related human service discipline

Direct experience working with families an asset

Have experience working with at risk families with complex needs ( domestic violence, mental health, and Child and Family Services status)

Must have excellent interpersonal and supportive counselling skills

Will be proficiency with using data bases and current technology

Working knowledge of assessments tools

Must have a reliable vehicle and proof of adequate vehicle insurance

Salary Range: $51,083.00- $56,758.00
