Senior Project Leader, Strategic Distribution & Innovation
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Distribution and Innovation (SD&), the Senior Project Leader SD&I plays a critical strategic role in all aspects of strategic planning in supply chain projects (end-to-end), ad hoc financial and business analysis, business process engineering, and project management.
The role will require superior communication skills and analytic thinking in identifying key strategic project initiatives and providing relevant and value-added communication planning and analysis. You will also foster and develop effective relationships with National Operations, National Sales, Procurement Operations and Technology Service Providers, and other key stakeholders to identify, define, prioritize and execute strategic and innovative initiatives. The role requires superior communication skills, but also senior-level strategic planning, financial analysis, and project management skills demonstrating a senior contribution to support supply chain.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain business; identifies, tracks, and communicates current trends and cost drivers in the market and industry. Performs strategic network planning and financial analysis on new initiatives or opportunities. Develops long-range objectives and strategic plans, identifying internal and external strategic issues and direction.
  • Communicates strategically and engages leadership where necessary to facilitate the strategic planning process. Understands the business needs and assumptions to prepare concise and informative presentations to Senior Leadership to assist in key decision-making.
  • Develops, analyzes, and interprets short and long range plans to support project operations to maximize the margin profitability
  • Identifies and assesses strategic business opportunities that improve financial effectiveness and provides relevant financial/business analysis. Develops and maintains benchmarking/comparable analyses for decision-making.
  • Manage New Distribution Center design, construction and implementation
  • Assess and implements MHE, or technology solutions that improve the supply chain efficiency
  • Is considered as the primary resource of the business process in automation distribution technology.
  • Keep an eye on trends in supply chain, in distribution technology & systems
Working Relationships
  • Drives and supports strategic planning including developing all communication plans, both internal and external. Communicates key information to stakeholders with respect to strategic initiatives and project delivery.
  • Supports senior management on various initiatives and special projects by researching, analyzing, recommending and completing implementation activities on time and budget. This will involve coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, negotiation and change management in achieving objectives.
  • Works closely with departmental management to develop projects/initiatives, which are aligned to strategic/business objectives. Leads cross-functional teams to develop strategic network analysis and supply chain project.
  • Able to delegate data analysis to analysts team, involve analyst in their projects, collaborate to coach and develop analysts team


  • Manages project expenses in accordance with project budgets.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Education, Training and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering combining an Administration Degree
  • A minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively senior experience within a large complex multi-site organization. Project management experiences in strategic network analysis and building construction are an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Leadership experience with an emphasis on knowledge of supply chain, strategic network planning, financial planning, business process engineering, business case development and performance management.
  • Effective facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills with demonstrated experience.
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with external organizations (vendors, service providers).
  • Excellent financial back-ground (P&L understanding, Business Case development)
  • Excellent understanding of distribution systems (WMS, WCS, LMS)
  • Excellent knowledge of inventory management and procurement process
  • Understanding of Retail and e-commerce indusry consider an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills in French/English, both written and verbal, that engage and inform the target audience. Refined presentation, facilitation, and ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely to many audiences within the organization to identify opportunities to create business value from supply chain.
  • Client-focused with an ability to facilitate and encourage cooperation between diverse operational groups and skill sets
  • Being a team player and focused on collaborative work
  • Advanced Excel, Access, AutoCAD, MS Project, and Network designer
  • Mobility to travel according to projects
