The IBD Nurse will be an active participant in the care of the IBD patient and will require exceptional organizational skills and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with conflict and stressful situations. The Nurse will be a patient advocate and work collaboratively with health care providers and patients and their families. The IBD Nurse will have strong critical thinking skills and be able to effectively deal with unexpected changes in clinical situations in a positive manner. The IBD Nurse will continue to broaden their knowledge base and continue to update themselves on changes in clinical practice in the therapeutic area. General Patient Care Management: The IBD Nurse helps manage the ongoing coordinated care of patients followed by Specialists that are infused/injected with biologic drugs (for example: Remicade, Stelara CD etc.) at an Inviva Clinic. The IBD Nurse patient caseload is comprised of patients with inflammatory bowel disease requiring biologic treatment. The IBD Nurse is responsible for the multi-disciplinary team coordination of patient care. The IBD Nurse will act as a clinical resource for staff and patient educator and advocate. More specifically, the caseload may include patients in one of the following situations: Patients with inflammatory bowel disease and identified special care needs.
