McKenzie Lake Residents Association is a non-profit organization enriching the life of members within our community. Within our facility there is an abundance of green space and a 43 acre recreational lake. Members of the community have access to this beautiful park and enjoy all year round. Summer activities include; swimming, boating/SUP, tennis, pickle ball, basketball, volley ball, yoga and so much more. The park has two large playgrounds with numerous barbecue pits for afternoon and evening cookouts. People move to McKenzie Lake just to be part of this Association and enjoy all of the wonderful amenities.

This exciting position has two important roles, Program Coordinator and Administrative Support. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Program Coordinator:

  • To act as the representative of the Board of Directors and the General Manager in developing programs.
  • To develop, supervise and evaluate the Association’s summer programs and events.
  • Program coordination including establishing program dates, hiring instructors, meeting as necessary with parents of program participants and ensuring all necessary program materials and equipment are on hand.
  • Program registration – ensure registration is organized and accept payments from registrants.
  • Program supervision – attendance at the park on most days programs are scheduled.
  • Program follow-up including authorization of payments to instructors and preparing a summary report at the end of the program period.
  • Planning Family Fun Day – Organizing activities within a budget; work with GM to map out activity locations, Participate and help supervise event.
  • Planning weekend activities for people of all ages
  • To liaise with the security personnel at the facility and deal with any program related problems that may arise.
  • Compile reports on programs offered including any recommendations for future programs.

Administrative Support :

  • Assist with administrative duties in the main office
  • Operate the administrative desk
  • Set up membership files
  • Issue replacement cards for members
  • Provide members information regarding facility bookings and rules.
  • Accept payments for member’s fees and facility bookings.

Position Specifications and Qualifications:

  • Practical ability in developing, coordinating and evaluating community type recreation programs.
  • Marketing experience – Proficient in social media platforms and other advertising methods.
  • Experience as a recreation program instructor would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a “self-starter”.
  • Computer literacy – Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, social media and email.
  • Flexibility. Your schedule may be sporadic, evening and weekend work is required.
  • Must be personable and have a positive upbeat attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must enjoy working with youth
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.

This is a seasonal position that commences in late April and runs through all of August. April and May will be part hours while most of June through the summer will be full time.
