MCIS Language Services is a non-profit social enterprise which serves over 1500 agencies in over 200 languages. Main duties: This internship will provide support to our governance department by contributing to the Recognition and Legacy Project. The key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as member of research team to locate, disseminate, and classify information utilizing online databases related to the type of awards MCIS could apply for and other types of recognition available to nonprofits
  • Actively participate in meetings to share and disseminate findings
  • Analyze information to make general recommendations
  • Produce report paper/ matrix with personal findings to guide the calendar development process and application template

- Research Data bases/ web-sites to determine awards relevant and/or applicable for nominating the organization, ED or executive/ staff
- Create an excel sheet with description of the award, template, dates etc. while continuously monitoring media for new opportunities
- Deliverables: Matrix of potential awards, calendar and Application template
 MCIS LEGACY PROJECT – Food for Language
- Building on experiences with Food for Language create an extension of the project inclusive of the project plan guided by MCIS‘ social impact objectives

Rquired skills/qualifications:

  • End-user computer literacy including e-mail, web search, word processing, and spreadsheet software
  • Familiarity with Database research essential
  • Agile project management frameworks such as Scrum
  • Experience participating in small working groups
  • Work independently, be flexible and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written Communication
  • Detail-oriented
  • Willingness to learn and abide by any confidentiality policies if and when necessary

Working hours:

  • Working from home, Tuesday-Thursday, approx. 4-5 (to a maximum of 10) hours per week
  • Willing to commit for at least 4 weeks
