Position Summary
We have an opening at our Surrey location for the position of Admin/Customer Service Supervisor. This hands-on position holds the important responsibility of leading the Customer Service team, supervising duties that include reviewing and setting-up customs documentation, updating the computer system regarding shipment status and providing our customers with superior service.
Description & Responsibilities are as follows,
- Monitor the distribution of work load
- Schedule staff as required
- Reports to Management as required
- Monitor production and make recommendations for necessary changes
- Promote a high level of professionalism and work ethic among staff
- Make recommendations for improvement within the department
- Assist in recruiting and monitoring employee performance standards; initiates and conducts employee appraisal interviews and disciplinary meetings when appropriate
- Schedule and monitor the training of new staff
- Handle calls and questions from clients, staff and drivers
- Booking appointments, coordinating with customers and dispatch personnel
- Interprets standard operating procedures and practices for unusual conditions and occurrences and makes appropriate decision in the best interests of the company, the customer and our employees
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of progressive CSR/ administrative experience in transportation or logistics
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel skills, Word, Outlook)
- Sound working knowledge of Canada Customs documents, conversant in cross border movement of goods both from a northbound and southbound perspective
- Ability to research, analyze and communicate in the best interests of the company
- Self-starter with problem solving skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Data entry and strong keyboard skills
Shift: 1:30pm to 10:00pm, Monday thru Friday
