The IT Support Specialist ensures proper computer and mobile device operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks, while striving to achieve the company mission the Best Homeowner Experience, in all activities undertaken. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to end-users to troubleshoot problems in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring incidents are resolved within SLA
  • Provide a prompt response to user requests for information and assist in application system problem resolution
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software
  • Log all incoming calls in an Incident Management tool and resolve and / or escalate calls as required, managing the full life-cycle of all service requests
  • Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees
  • Comply with IT Processes and Procedures
  • Triage issues and service requests via phone, e-mail or service desk ticketing system
  • Accurately record and document all details of the issue or service request, including categorization and priority into the IT ticketing system
  • Ensure the client is kept fully up to date on outstanding issues
  • Travel as needed to remote office locations to set-up equipment, upgrade hardware/software, troubleshoot, problem-solve and assist with office moves
  • Investigate complex hardware problems, contacting vendors or other technical sources to resolve incidents and develop solutions
  • Assist with the Infrastructure Management Administrator functions (ie. network monitoring, server room monitoring, end user security)
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mobile devices, telephone, workstations, desktops and laptops
  • Coordinate with relevant IT Service Delivery leads to resolve after-hours incidents
  • Assist and complete project related tasks

The Person
We are looking for a Candidate with the following:

Education and Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in business or information systems
  • Minimum of 3 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience providing direct technical support to end users via telephone or e-mail to troubleshoot problems in an efficient and effective manner
  • Experience logging incoming calls in an Incident Management tool and resolving and / or escalating calls as required
  • Experience in prioritizing and allocating incidents and queue management
  • Experience in access control activities such as active directory accounts, local user privileges, etc. would be an asset

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Effective negotiation skills, able to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with various users and customers
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize appropriately in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
