In keeping with the Mattamy Mission of providing The Best Homeowner Experience, the Design and Purchasing Administrator is responsible for generating purchase orders in addition to researching, verifying, and amending invoices received from the Accounting Department. The incumbent is also responsible for researching and responding to all inquiries from customers, trades, employees, and suppliers. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Analyze and review homeowner documentation for Design Centre optional extras – In particular all the paperwork for accuracy, pricing, and proper payment 
  • Maintain homeowner files and perform other duties as required 
  • Facilitate the flow of Décor information between the Design Centre, Construction Sites, Internal Staff, Trade Partners – Distribution to Internal/External Staff and Trade Partners 
  • Generates purchase orders for optional extras 
  • Research and clarify discrepancies – Amend invoices sent back from the Accounting Department through various means of communication
  • Researches and responds to all inquiries from Construction Sites, Internal Staff, Trade Partners, and any other Internal/External Departments 
  • Schedule homeowner appointments with Design Consultants 
  • Send homeowners Design Guide & Model Specific Pricing 
  • Attends monthly Design Centre meetings 
  • Attends Purchasing meetings as required 
  • Perform other duties as required to support the department

The Person
We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Education and Experience 

  • Completion of college diploma required, preferably in Office or Business Administration 
  • Strong customer service background with prior experience in a customer service role 
  • Previous experience in an accounting related role would be considered an asset

Skills and Attributes 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required 
  • Computer literacy with experience in MS Office applications 
  • Ability to do numerical analysis and prior work experience in performing such tasks 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
