Our Fort St. John, B.C. and Grande Prairie, A.B. offices are seeking Junior and Intermediate Environmental Scientist(s)/Technologist(s) to support our growing assessment, remediation, reclamation and monitoring (ARRM) team.

Junior Position:Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments; remediation and ground water monitoring programs;
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, work plans, and cost estimates;
  • Participate in spill responses and associated clean-up activities;
  • Assist with other service line projects when needed.

Education, Experience, Technical Skills:

  • Degree or technical diploma in the environmental sciences or engineering field;
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience of related experience;
  • Function effectively as part of a collaborative team;
  • Service-oriented and have the ability to multi-task;
  • Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Intermediate Position:Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the field portion of projects in accordance with Matrix Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures;
  • Supervise junior staff and sub-contractors on site;
  • Provide initial interpretation of field data;
  • Work with senior technical advisors to prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports for projects.

Education, Experience, Technical Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing various assessment, reclamation, remediation and/or monitoring projects;
  • A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering with the eligibility for registration in a professional organization;
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment;
  • Service-oriented and have the ability to multi-task;
  • Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to provide effective technical direction and mentorship to other professionals;
  • Function effectively as part of a collaborative team;
  • A working knowledge of British Columbia’s Contaminated Sites Regulations under the jurisdiction of the Oil and Gas Commission.
