Skill Requirements:
Education:
Completion of high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):

Not required, but applicants with food safety, safe food service or first aid certificates will be considered first.

Experience:
3 years to 5 years

Languages:
Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting:
Specialty shop – retail bakery, cafe, catering operation

Type of Experience:
Salesperson/clerk in a retail bakery or cafe

Product Experience/Knowledge:
Food and food products, Nutrition and health products, Light Food Preparation

Specific Skills:
Operate cash register, Customer service oriented, Set up displays of merchandise in windows or display cases, Process money, cheque and credit/debit card payment, Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems, Light Food Preparation. Provide advice about merchandise, and perform light cleaning of work areas. Work with minimal supervision

Transportation/Travel Information:
Own transportation is helpful, as public transportation is available for most shifts, but not all shifts
