The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee of Manitoba (PGT) is a provincial government Special Operating Agency that manages and protects the affairs of Manitobans who are unable to do so themselves and have no one else willing or able to act. This includes mentally incompetent and vulnerable adults, deceased estates and children. This position is with the Accounting Department of the PGT and is responsible for verifying and processing a high volume of receipts.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Extensive experience verifying and processing various types of receipts (cheques, money orders and other non-cash items) into electronic system.

Extensive experience with basic financial processes including preparing and reconciling financial information and processing/coding receipts.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines while managing a high volume of work.

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with departmental staff, suppliers and other professionals.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to perfom basic mathematics calculations.

Computer experience with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook) or equivalent applications.

Experience reconciling financial reports.

Desired:
Experience processing bills/invoices for payment.

Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Mail Cash Clerk processes all incoming receipts (cheques, money orders and other non-cash items) received by mail, hand-delivery or courier and entered onto PGT system. The receipts system maintains and controls receipts to ensure client monies are received on a timely basis, and if not received, they are followed up as to the corresponding disposition and resolve any area of concern or variances.
