Job Summary

Maderra Engineering is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Package Engineer -Rebar in St. John’s, NL.

Responsibilities

  • Check and issue up-to-date documents, schedules and drawings. Keep records of all issues of rebar drawings and Bar Bending Schedules in preparation for rebar orders
  • Detailing and scheduling of pile reinforcements for the project. Call in rebar for the project and manage deliveries
  • Review quality records, test reports, and certify fabrication of various components of the project
  • Communicate and collaborate with Designers, Quality Field Inspectors, Weld Inspectors, Non-Destructive testers, Fabricators and Owner Representatives to evaluate design and fabrication details and resolve non-conformances
  • Advise on constructability issues
  • Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents, and material and equipment specifications
  • Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards
  • Interpreting engineering specifications, resolving design and field engineering difficulties and coordinating work schedules
  • Ensuring design work interfaces well with that of other disciplines
  • Contributing to the planning and scheduling of work to achieve prescribed objectives
  • Preparing progress reports and monitoring project controls
  • Recommending changes in plans and specifying estimated costs
  • Consulting with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications
  • Keeping abreast of new technical developments and estimating their impacts

Requirements

  • Bach. Engineering Degree and registered as a professional engineer with at least 8 years working experience or Engineering Technologist with strong rebar background
  • Has minimum of 5 years on site working in a major project environment
  • Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, planning, and organizing abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in fabrication and holders of recognized related quality certificates
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

Job Type: Contract
