As a member of Associate Veterinary Clinics (AVC), The MacKay Animal Clinic has been a fixture in downtown Whitby for over 40 years. Our team offers a variety of veterinary services, as well as grooming, boarding, therapeutic and maintenance pet foods, flea, parasite and heartworm control and prevention. Our team of doctors and support staff work together to provide excellent client care!

About Our Candidate
We’re looking for a passionate and energetic part-time Animal Care Attendant, working 8-15 hours/week, including mornings, evenings and weekends, to join our dedicated team in a collaborative environment where medicine and pets come first! Our staff join us because they are passionate about what they do!
As the ideal candidate you will have:

• Previous one year veterinary experience required, preferably in General Practice Environment.
• Animal Care Attendant Certificate is an asset
• Experience providing excellent customer service
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment

About The Role
The main duties of this role are:

• Caring and feeding of pet patients as well as responsible for disinfecting and sterilizing the kennels and maintaining the hospital’s cleanliness
• Assisting the technicians and Veterinarians as required with exams or surgeries and thus must have animal restraint experience
• Interacting with clients and patients in a compassionate manner
