The position of Electronic Image Design Specialist is responsible for designing complex applications, claim forms and questionnaires that are used by our line of business areas in conducting their daily business. Throughout the design process the incumbent must ensure all forms designed adhere to legal and corporate guidelines for logo and signature use and terminology. The position provides English, French and Bilingual design services for Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life, as well as customized forms for policyholders in various formats such as hardcopy, electronic PDF files, and web posted forms. Monitoring consistency in corporate image, legal terms, other corporate standards and ease of use and understanding of the forms as well as the end use of a form is a key function of the position. This position also provides Leadership for one staff member ensuring all work is completed within established turnaround times, and ensuring vacation and sick time is recorded and back up to limited aspects of Manager role

Accountabilities :
Form Analysis/Design Maintain all references for graphics, logos, signatures, fonts and forms used in the day to day business of Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life and Investor’s Group business lines. Monitor use and communicate to customers any standards and policies regarding signatures, logo use or other corporate standards. Create, modify and distribute artwork for all forms such as applications, questionnaires, claim forms and brochures; ensure specifications are consistent with vendor requirements for production. Create and record in SAP all alternate form setups for future retrieval and modification as required whether the forms exist as interactive PDF’s, print only PDF’s, Accessible PDF format, Microsoft word documents etc. Create, modify and forward for posting, all electronic versions of forms to various intranet sites – YKC, Corporate Website, Group Member Portal, HTML web forms. Review form specifications and electronic form posting information in SAP ensuring job being printed has accurate and complete information in SAP Coordinate translation requirements with Montreal Translation and Corporate Proofreading ensuring timely turnaround and that proofs are approved prior to print.
Team Leader Responsibilities Responsible for creating, documenting and monitoring all policies and procedures relating to the Forms Design unit and ensuring they are followed. Delegate and work within Design unit ensuring all established turnaround times are met
Administration Maintain weekly and monthly tracking spreadsheets for all work assignment. Maintain accurate and complete files of art approvals, changes and original copy for future reference if required. Maintain orderly and current art directory files on the MAC ensuring obsolete files are archived properly and that hardcopy versions are provided to Archives for permanent filing. Provide on-demand SAP reports for end users requesting form movement, usage, version dates and sample art as required. Create/modify Design Procedures ensuring they are kept up-to-date and accurate.

Qualifications and Competencies : Excellent verbal and written communication skills Typing skills 55 wpm minimum Knowledge of French language an asset Knowledge of forms design, layout, analysis and forms management practices Experience in the use of various file formats and design software such as Adobe Indesign, Adobe Acrobat, Able2Extract, Dreamweaver, XML Spy Experience in the use of both PC and MAC operating systems Knowledge of web based applications and ability to design forms for web site posting that include security features reducing risk of fraudulent use Knowledge of Digital Print technologies, and the correlation of electronic forms design and digital technologies
