St. Bartholomew at Queen Elizabeth II Public School (60 Aberdeen Avenue, Sarnia, Ontario)

Requires:
After School Educator in School Age Program

Monday – Friday, 15 hrs per week, 3pm-6pm; occasional full day shifts (PD Days, March Break, Christmas Break, etc); potential for full time in summer months
Commencing February 16, 2015 to June 26, 2015

Qualifications:
# Preferably diploma in Early Childhood Education, also considering those who have related diplomas/degrees (Youth Leadership, CYW, SSW, Psychology, etc);
# Demonstrated knowledge/understanding in child development of ages 4 – 12;
# Experience working with school age children;
# Experience in licensed child care an asset;
# Demonstrated interest, knowledge, or experience with Emergent Curriculum.

Position Responsibilities:
# Working within a school setting as After School Educator providing care for up to 20 children between the ages of 4 and 12 years in school setting;
# Implementing a developmentally appropriate program with team of educators, including communicating this with co-workers, centre team and families;
# Developing meaningful relationships with children and families, and school faculty through daily contact and interactions;
# Commitment to actively participate in professional development opportunities offered within the organization;
# Commitment to needs of the centre and flexibility in work schedule;
# Additional light housekeeping of the room is shared by co-workers.
