Plans, coordinates, directs, and/or performs engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment; investigates and analyzes project requirements and operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL); evaluates, selects, applies, and/or adapts engineering modifications; designs or recommends new or modified parts and components; analyzes reparability of parts and components; evaluates operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals; analyzes and evaluates aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications. Specific Job Description • Prepare and maintain engine testing instructions for the CFM56, CF34 and next generation engine models

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during engine testing
  • Develop and maintain engine testing programs within ProDAS and EDAS softwares
  • Responsible for addressing and resolving engine test related snags within a deadline
  • Technical liaison with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) on any engine testing related issues
  • Liaise with the Customer Program Manager on any customer requests that are related to testing
  • Provide support to the Propulsion Engineering department on questions / snags that would have an impact during engine testing
  • As required, prepare customized engine testing result reports
  • As required, create and present presentations for Quarterly Review Meetings (QRMs) with the customer on engine testing issues and trends
  • As required, participate in the revision of the KACM Workscope Planning Guide documents for engine testing
  • As required, participate in the Service Bulletin review process for any Service Bulletins affecting engine testing
  • Provide support to the Configuration Control Specialist during the publication review process
  • Develop and maintain engine testing tasks in Quantum Control
  • As required, support the Propulsion Engineering department on providing front line support to engine production throughout the engine overhaul process Basic Qualifications & Desired Skills • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Materials or equivalent Engineering degree
  • 6-8 years of experience in similar position, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Eligible for, or work towards, powerplant Designated Engineer (DE) designation
  • Quantum Control experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of the ProDAS and EDAS (or equivalent) acquisition system is a requirement
  • Experience in handling technical aspects of maintenance repairs of aero engines in a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry
  • Experience in handling and troubleshooting engine problems
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, prepare technical reports and recommend manual revisions
  • Sound judgment and initiative
  • Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
  • Willingness to be on call and to work extended hours including week ends
  • Fleet experience on propulsion systems
