Why is this role important? Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch
Includes tracking and tracing offshore inbound freight
Track freight to ensure loads meet business orders and timelines
Update DC spreadsheets daily including PO ETA’s and appointments
Maintain and communicate accurate data in order to assist the business with making decisions.
Invoices
Ensure region-specific audit procedures are followed related to Ocean logistics
Validate all invoices to ensure accurate freight costs have been charged to the business
Process invoices through internal system (IPT) for vendor payment
Maintain carrier relationships through processing of payables on time.
Ensure purchase orders (POs) are charged on invoices as per actual freight rate paid

Reporting
Manage spreadsheets & reports sent to business Including storage reporting, empty return reporting
Maintain internal system (IPT) & spreadsheets with accurate data to ensure business has visibility to product arrival and or delays

Problem Solving
Dealing with steamship lines on allocations and sailings to ensure freight arrives on time
Rerouting and prioritizing freight as requested
Identifying areas of process improvement
investigate all No shows; po concerns, and takes steps to resolve the challenges going forward
Communicate to all stakeholders what challenges are being addressed; update them regularly to point of resolution.

Customer Service
Responds to phone and email requests sent by from Planners; Vendors; Replenishment; Scheduling; DCs and other members of Transportation community
Provide status updates to the business on shipments

Qualifications:
Knowledgeable of technical specialties or process requirements; capable of implementing practical procedures of systems which are moderately complex and/or use specialized skills which require some specific knowledge to apply.
Should possess ability to work unsupervised and display strong initiative skills.
Should have computer savvy and previous experience with Excel and Outlook.
Previous experience with SAP would be an asset.
College Degree; CITT Certificate or equivalent work experience
1- 3 years of experience in a similar role
Experience in working in a deadline-driven or production environment
