JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Manager, Project Management Operations must plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the project management department for the Greater Montreal Region. The incumbent will be accountable for project quality, efficiency of processes, client support and development, profitability and sales support. He or she will need to plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency as well as manage senior production members and their respective teams for optimum performance. MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE SENIOR MANAGER, PROJECT MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS: – Carrying out and attaining the goals and objectives of the Project Management department for the Greater Montreal Region – Coaching and development of management and supervisory staff to their maximum potential – Development of the overall department – Integrating a culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development as well as high performance MAIN RESPONSABILITIES: Includes, but is not limited to the following.
Other duties may be assigned. HR Management: – Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the department in accordance with organization’s policies and procedures – Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities – Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement about over ideas, expedient conflict resolution and the appreciation of diversity – Lead employees using performance management and provide a context and framework to encourage employee contribution and include goal setting, feedback and performance development planning Operations Management: – Manage the overall operational, budgetary and financial responsibilities and activities of the Greater Montreal Region – Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build effective relationships to reach mutually beneficial solutions – Plan, evaluate and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency and output – Review performance data that includes financial, sales and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement and overall effectiveness – Plan and allocate resource to effectively staff and accomplish the work – Prepares periodic reports, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment – Accountable for achievement of department productivity and quality goals – Address conflicting priorities and readjust as needed SKILL SET: – Solid knowledge of business and management principles and practices – Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures – Advanced analytical, evaluative and objective critical thinking skills – Ability to communicate effectively with clients/employees and present to a diverse audience – Proven ability in team building, conflict resolution, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision making – Proven leadership and coaching skills that foster teamwork – Understanding of budgeting tools and processes – Must be results driven, resourceful, and confident and take initiative – Must possess proven strong time management and organizational skills – Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, email and Internet communications – Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or related field – 5-7 years of experience in management – Translation and localization project management experience an asset
