UI/UX Designer Lightspeed is currently seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our Montreal Product Management team. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing user interface elements at all stages of the development process to ensure that Lightspeed’s growing portfolio of products are visually stunning for users. Primary Responsibilities:

Work closely with product managers, development teams, and other internal stakeholders to build storyboards, proof-of-concept mockups, demos, and prototypes
Work closely with our internal design team to ensure consistency with Lightspeed branding and marketing efforts
Produce user interface design elements to bring features and products to market
Collaborate on the definition of user interface design standards for Lightspeed’s product portfolio, to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and consistent look and feel
Conduct ongoing research of user interface development best practices
Conduct usability tests, task analyses, surveys, and focus groups
Work with product management to develop high level product prototypes or mock-ups for feedback purposes
Create wireframes and prototypes for testing and quick feedback
Interact directly with software developers to define application workflows and screen layouts
Help to establish design guidelines for future product developments
Provide creative consultation & solutions for a variety of interactive design related requests
Champion user experience within the development team and the Company

Requirements:

3 – 5 years of UI/UX design experience
Education in Graphic Design or Industrial Design, or equivalent experience
Ability to design layout/UI storyboards and process flow charts
Ability to annotate designs and UI for development (in CSS or other formats)
Ability to understand technical implementations and limitations
Education in Human Computer Interaction or related design program, or equivalent experience
Prior experience in prototyping techniques and user-centred design principals on commercially available products
Prior experience performing user interviews and product testing
Proven experience using user research methodologies and creating brief documents outlining their findings for various departments in company
Proven ability to present concepts and ideas to stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, innovative distributed environment

Assets:

Experience working within development teams using agile development methodologies
Programming experience
Xcode experience
CSS/HTML5 experience

Prior experience in a UI/UX team
