Licensed Practical Nurse

BARGAINING UNIT: M.N.U.

FACILITY/SERVICE/PROGRAM: Reston Health Centre, Reston MB

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: 0.60 EFT Permanent Position

Start on or about: October 5, 2014 ANTICIPATED SHIFT PATTERN: 7.75 hour days/evenings

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate from an approved educational institution required.

 Current active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba required.

 Current certification in BCLS.

 Leadership skills and ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team required.

 Ability to work, problem-solve, and make decisions both interdependently and independently required.

 Effective oral and written communication skills required.

 Sound organizational skills required.

 Mental and physical ability to meet the demands of the job required.

 Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships required.

 Ability to apply critical thinking skills required.

 Experience with computer systems, word processing, and email application.

 Recent experience/certifications in identified area.

 Acute Care requires: Current IV therapy certification

 Long term Care requires: P.I.E.C.E.S training; Non-violent Crisis Intervention training; Feeding & Swallowing training.
