You are an Installation and Repair Technician responsible for the installation, set up and maintenance of telecommunication services including phone, internet, and television. You travel extensively throughout Alberta and British Columbia working in customers’ homes and businesses providing exceptional customer service and quality work. You enjoy working with technology while also providing a best-in-class approach to customer service.

This position operates on a 20 days on and 8 days off shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Traveling to various communities in BC and Alberta to support business requirements
• Drive to and from residential and small business customer locations in a defined geographic area performing installation and repair of phone, internet and digital television services on behalf of our client
• Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner to ensure that their work orders are completed as requested
• Provide an exceptional customer experience ensuring that any escalations or concerns are addressed professionally
• Trace and locate appropriate telecommunications links, which could involve climbing telephone poles, working in confined spaces (attics and crawl spaces) and climbing ladders
• Work both indoors and outdoors at the customer location
• Exemplify an unwavering commitment to safety, risk management, operating within defined standards and delivering innovative solutions
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• A strong desire to deliver excellent customer service
• Committed to “Right First Time” quality workmanship
• A love of travel and working in different locations
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
• Previous experience from the following industries is an asset: telecommunications, home installation and service for electronics and appliances, sales, retail, security, automotive service, cabling, electrical and mechanical
• Previous experience working in the field independently and strong technical aptitude
• Must be computer savvy and able to handle multiple computer applications
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 provincial driver’s license and provide an abstract annually
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, functional fitness evaluation and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Work Conditions

• 20 Days on and 8 Days off rotation (6on,1off, 6on,1off, 6on,8off)
• Working in various communities across Alberta and BC
• Travel allowance and daily live out allowance provided
• Vehicle and major tools provided
• Evenings work is required
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc)
