You are a reliable Journeyperson or Apprentice Ironworker who is looking for a long term opportunity with a competitive wage. Your talents include structural steel connecting and stick building. If you take pride in getting the job done safely, efficiently, and confidently, you will be a great addition to the NOVA Polyethylene Expansion project team.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates structural steel buildings, ornamental ironwork and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects
• Studies blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the lay out of work
• Installs scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks and other hoisting equipment
• Positions steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have a Journeyperson Ironworker Ticket or be a registered Ironworker Apprentice
• Must have rigging experience
• Must have experience working at heights
• Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Must possess or be willing to acquire CSTS .09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
• Must possess a valid form of government issued photo identification
• Must be able to travel to and from site every shift
• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Work Conditions

• Applicants that reside in AB will be given preference due to the location of this project
• 10/4 shift rotation – 10 hours per day
• Living out allowance provided for eligible candidates
• Travel/Radial allowance provided for eligible candidates
• Benefits provided by CLAC
• 4% RSP, 2% Pension Contribution
• 2% Employer Matched Pension
• 10% Vacation Pay
• Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
