Health & Safety Project Officer

The LCBO is looking for an experienced individual to join its Corporate Safety Services department as a Health and Safety Project Officer to provide support in areas of workplace health and safety. You will assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and training materials related to workplace health and safety and legislative requirements. You will conduct workplace inspections, safety audits and incident investigations related to safety issues as well as assist with compliance of orders from the Ministry of Labour. In addition, duties will include analyzing statistical data, preparing written reports and researching relevant issues. You will also participate in organizing, delivering and facilitating health and safety training, events, meetings and presentations; some travel throughout Ontario may be required.

Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations acquired through related experience, preferably in a unionized environment and coupled with postsecondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency using Microsoft applications.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the province.
